Today is supposed to be a legal free browsing day where all eligible Glo subscribers expected to enjoy Free data, but it is unfortunate, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has stopped Globacom Nigeria’s plans to offer free data to all its subscribers on Friday, August 11, 2017.
Globacom Nigeria had initially introduced the promo to offer free data to all its subscribers to enjoy a whole day of free internet access when they meet a set of voice and/or data usage threshold within 7 days to the free data day.
But NCC said that the promotion was not in line with what was approved by the regulator. According to NCC,
It has however come to our notice that Globacom Nigeria Ltd has been implementing the above regulatory approval in breach especially given your recent media campaign on the ‘Glo free data offer’, a clear departure from terms and condition of the approval given for the Glo overload promotion.
“Consequent upon the above, you are hereby directed to suspend implementation of the Glo overload promotion from your network with immediate effect,” the letter read.

This is really a sad news for those expecting to enjoy the service before it was stopped by the NCC.

Besides it's not like u browse free the whole day like the write up says,it's 250MB.I support NCC on this cos why can't globacom just give its subscribers the free data without conditions???

    1. No u got it wrong. It was actually going to be a free day. Spend either 250 naira on calls or 100 mb data + 100 naira to qualify. Then the news came after. So annoying. Then today I got a message that I should subscribe to 1k plan for 3.5gb. And glo has fixed it's network coverage cuz I'm getting h+ finally at home.

  5. Don't know why sometimes this f**cking NCC used to blocks a chance for Nigerian . everyone is waiting for that day to come before NCC dispreciatd the offer without a gunuine and valid reason
If we were not getting this type of offer then NCC should have talk to this Network Providers. they are taking our money irregular, they need to compensate us.
